When my daughter was born, she suffered from food allergies and very bad eczema. Even though I was already a licensed Cosmetologist and makeup artist, I wanted to gain more knowledge to help people with their skin. My interest in skincare was also fueled by Dr. Thomas Cowan, who was a holistic doctor in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Dr. Cowan helped my daughter tremedously through diet, nutrional supplements, herbal tinctures and other remedies. I saw the improvements first hand as she got older. As I learned more about natural healing and nutrition over the years I decided to go to school for advanced esthetics. This led to the opening of my own skincare business in 2004. I choose the name Anika because it means grace and beauty in most languages. Specifically in African, it means ' sweetness of face'. I wanted to highlight this because I help people across the spectrum of color, from the lightest complexions to the darkest. Fast forward twenty years and I am still helping people with their skin health. I developed an interagrative approach to skincare by looking at the whole person. I've combined several different modalities to customize a plan to fit an individual's needs. I help people with acne, aging skin, sun damaged skin, rosacea, enviromentally sensitive skin types and more. I helped many clients with skincare symptoms caused by autoimmune diseases like Lupus, Sjogrens disease, allergies and cancer treatments. Several of my clients' skin healed through micro- current therapies. They regained feeling where they had been numb from previous surgeries. This prompted me to seek additional education as a mirco current practioner. If you do not know about the benefits of microcurrents, please see my blogs!Common questions about facial micro current treatments- also called non invasive face and necklifts.New Lift MD Microcurrent Advanced FacialAdditionally, I became a skincare formulator over the years. Several of my clients had skin conditions that were greatly improved or healed from the natural creams I made in small batches. We have two exclusive Anika Skincare lines that we use,Pure Essential Natural Skincare brand by Teresa Paquin and the Essential Dermacueticals brand of advanced clinical grade skincare. The anikabeauty website is something I created for my clients all.over the United States and abroad. The website was designed and completely run by myself. I offer a variety of clinical grade skincare. It is all natural, vegan, Non GMO, and organic. We also have suncare, cosmetics, clean non toxic fragrance aromatherapy, jewelry and all sorts of beauty devices. There are added bonuses of beauty rewards, free samples and shipping. We have free local pick up for clients that prefer this option.Since I run Anika Skincare by myself, I do not take walk in clients.I run everything by appointment only and schedule clients on select Monday's, and Tuesday through Saturdays. With both day and early evening appointment times.
